大動脈解離シンポジウム

延期になっていた大動脈解離シンポジウムが11月12日に開催されることになりました。大島医師が”胸腹部大動脈瘤 -慢性大動脈解離における広範囲拡大例への手術”の発表をさせて頂きます。

The Aortic Dissection Symposium, which was postponed due to the pandemic, will be held on 12 November. Dr. Oshima will be presenting on “Thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms – surgery for extensive enlargement in chronic aortic dissection”.

台湾の医師たちとカンファレンスを行いました。

今日は台湾の医師と国際会議を行いました。大動脈手術についてお互いの方法や考え方を確認しました。通常の会議ではできない深い議論ができ、大変有意義でした。この会議は毎週行っています。

Today we had an international conference with Taiwanese doctors. We confirmed each other’s methods and ideas on aortic surgery. It was very meaningful to have in-depth discussions, which we cannot do at ordinary conferences. This conference will be repeated every week.

緊急手術

2日連続の緊急re-do基部置換術。大変な症例でしたが、無事に終了。明日もハードなケースが続きますが頑張ります。

Emergency re-do aortic root replacement for two consecutive days. These were tough cases, but we got it over with. Tomorrow will be other hard cases, but we will do our best.

日本での開腹手術の成績は良好です。腹部大動脈瘤の手術には、大動脈手術の重要な要素がすべて含まれていると思います。

Presentation on the treatment of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms. The results of open surgery in Japan are good. I think the operation for abdominal aortic aneurysms contains all the important elements of aortic surgery.

英語を学ぶ機会を大切に

アジア諸国では看護師やCEも海外に目を向けています。英語が堪能な方が多いので、すぐに仲良くなれます。 KACには海外からの医師が定期的に滞在しているので、英語を学ぶ機会としてスタッフに活用してもらいたいです。

In Asian countries, nurses and CE are also looking abroad. Most of them are fluent in English, so I get on well with them quickly. We have doctors from overseas staying at the KAC on a regular basis, so I would like our staff to use this as an opportunity to learn English.

ハロウィン

当院の最上階にベーカリーがあります。そこで働く女性はいつもボードに絵を描いています。病院にいる​​と患者さんもお医者さんも四季を忘れがちですが、この絵は季節を思い出させてくれます。

On the top floor of our hospital there is a bakery. The lady who works there always draws pictures on the board. Patients and doctors alike forget the seasons when we are in hospital all the time, but this picture remind us of the seasons and make us feel at home.

花蓮慈済病院（台湾）

花蓮慈済医院で川崎大動脈センターでの手術についてプレゼンテーションを行いました。大動脈手術に対する私たちの姿勢を若い医師たちと共有できたことを非常にうれしく思います。また、手術に対する姿勢も立派でした。私も彼らから学ぶことができ、基本に立ち返ることができました。

I had a presentation about Kawasaki aortic surgery in Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital. I was very pleased with sharing our attitude towards aortic surgery with young doctors. And their attitude for surgery was also commendable. I could also learned from them and went back to the basics.
