川崎大動脈センターの2023年の手術件数は開胸胸部大動脈手術608件、開腹腹部大動脈手術74件、胸部、腹部ステントグラフト225件でした。今年もより多くの術者を育成し、より多くの方により安全な手術を行えるよう仲間と日々精進していきます。
The number of surgeries performed at Kawasaki Aortic Center in 2023 was 608 thoracic aortic surgeries, 74 abdominal aortic surgeries, and 225 thoracoabdominal stent grafts. This year, we will continue to work together with our colleagues to train more surgeons and provide safe surgery to more people.
Joe先生とHuang先生が12月で国に帰られました。1月からSergey先生とWirarong先生、Shin先生、Toe先生が加わります。またタイに戻った先生から早速Bentall手術を行ったことやフランスのTomasi先生から左開胸下行大動脈置換術を行ったなどの報告を受け、嬉しい限りです。
Dr. Joe and Dr. Huang returned home in December. Starting January, we welcome Dr. Sergey, Dr. Wirarong, Dr. Shin, and Dr. Toe. It’s great to hear that a returned Thai doctor has already done Bentall, and Dr. Tomasi in France performed descending aortic replacement.
今日でタイからの留学医師Dr. Joeが最後になります。この6ヶ月間が彼の今後の外科医人生に役に立つことを願うばかりです。いつも笑顔を絶やさないナイスガイでムードメーカーでもありました。1月からはウクライナとタイ、台湾から新たな先生たちが仲間に加わります。
Today will be the last time for Dr. Joe, a doctor studying abroad from Thailand. I can only hope that these six months will be useful for his future career as a surgeon. He was a nice guy who always had a smile on his face and was a mood maker. Starting in January, new teachers will join us from Ukraine, Thailand, and Taiwan.
今年は胸部大動脈手術件数が600例。予定手術約300件の在院死亡率は0%。今日の外来で地元では出来ないと説明され緩和ケアとされている方々が3人来院されました。このような方々にも安全な手術を提供していくことがKACの宿命と思います。来年も更なる発展をしていきたいと思います。
This year, we reached 600 thoracic aortic surgeries with a 0% in-hospital mortality for planned cases. Today, three patients came to us after being deemed inoperable elsewhere. Providing safe surgeries for such patients is KAC’s mission. We aim for further growth next year.

Ruptured pararenal abdominal aortic aneurysm after aortic arch replacement. In the operating room, five anesthesiologists began taking lines from each limb at the same time, and the double-lumen tube was intubated in no time. I am grateful that they have so many people on hand even in an emergency.

Yesterday and today, we handled two emergency surgeries for Stanford type A aortic dissection and type IV thoracoabdominal rupture. As winter intensifies, such cases may rise. Anyone with high blood pressure should seek prompt medical attention.

本日のKACカンファレンスはステント抜去を伴う下行大動脈人工血管置換術とロス手術。インドではロス手術は大変多く、バルン先生はまだ若いにも関わらず、60例以上の執刀経験があります。ロス手術は日本の成人手術では稀でなかなか見ることも少ないので是非彼の病院に行き勉強したくなりました。
Today’s KAC Conference discussed aortic graft replacement after TEVAR failure and the Ross procedure. In India, the Ross procedure is common. Dr. Varun, young yet experienced, has over 60 cases. It’s rare in Japan, so I’m keen to learn more at his hospital.
